As a part of our long-standing work with Public Union for Social Assistance to People with Hearing and Speech Impairments, founded by Jamila Abdulova, we are also screening a special 12-minute long short film titled Nargiz. Having a plotline completely different from all the other short films produced in Azerbaijan, Nargiz is offering a novel understanding to cinematography. Directed by Shirin Ahmadov, the film reflects the sensitivity of a young girl named Nargiz towards her parents, unemployment and difficult family situation. The whole movie is in sign language as it also targets hearing-impaired audience along with the subtitles in English and Azerbaijani.
