Aim of the course
The course aims at improving quality of English language teaching, creating new and different environment in education system, providing inservice teacher training for teachers. The course will take place in below mentioned dates in 2 groups each consisting of 15 participants:
- 1-5 June 2015 – 09 am - 04 pm
- 6-10 June 2015 – 09 am - 04 pm
Course description
The course will cover the areas below:
- Lesson planning
- Classroom management
- Pair work and Group work
- Teaching listening
- Teaching speaking
- Teaching reading
- Teaching writing
- Error correction
- Modern approaches to teaching
- Working with the textbook
Who can participate:
English language teachers working in high and secondary schools and language courses, as well as, teachers with English language teaching experience in the past
How to participate in the course:
Interested candidates should visit www.britishcouncil.az website and fill in the application form. The Application Form should be sent to enquiries@britishcouncil.az no later than 20 May, 2015 in MS Word format. All applications will be reviewed and successful candidates will be invited to the interview for the final selection. The successful 30 teachers will be selected as participants of the course.
Minimum criteria for participation in the course:
Minimum 1 year work experience
- Excellent English language skills equalling to advanced levels of CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
- Confidence in teaching reading, writing, listening, speaking skills
- Pedagogical experience and ability using different methods
- Average knowledge and skills of ICT
- Presentation skills and ability to use presentations in teaching
- Experience of using contemporary textbooks in English language teaching
- Participation in different teacher trainings is desirable
- Availability to participate in British Council projects after finishing the course.
