English Clubs is an initiative that will develop young people’s skills so that they have access to stronger employment opportunities in the future. It also aims to increase understanding and acceptance of tolerance, mutuality, dialogue and equality among the wider community which will support broadening of horizons of young people and being open diverse views and opinions.
In Azerbaijan, two new English Clubs will be established in 2018-19, at Fuzuli School no. 50 and Gushchu School named after A.G. Isakhanov. Both are IDP community schools. British Council has previously opened ten English Clubs and one English Resource Centre for teachers.
English Clubs are fully funded by the UK Government. British Council is partnering the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan to implement the project and to contribute to the security and stability in the remote communities.
